Edupiad is a place for students to practise Math Olympiad papers. This page explains what we keep about you, why we keep it, and what you can ask us to do. We deliberately collect as little as possible.

What we keep

When you create an account: your birth month and year (we never ask the day), the nickname you choose, your password (stored one-way encrypted - we cannot read it), and: if you are old enough to sign up on your own, your email address; if you are under the age that needs a parent's consent, a username and your parent's email - we do NOT take your email. We record the country you are in at sign-up (provided by Cloudflare) to apply that country's age rules, and when you accepted the terms. If you sign in with Google, we also receive your Google account ID, email and profile picture from Google. You may choose to tell us your grade. When you practise: which paper, which answers you chose, how many were right or wrong, your score and the time taken.

What we do NOT ask for

We do not ask for your full date of birth, home address, phone number or school name, and we do not take the email of students who need a parent's consent. Your nickname does not need to be your real name, and we encourage you not to use it.

What we use it for

Only to make Edupiad work for you: signing in, saving a paper you are part way through, marking your answers, showing your past attempts, and filtering papers to your grade. We do not sell your data to anyone, we do not use it for advertising, and there are no behaviour tracking tools on this site.

Cookies and browser storage

We only use what the site needs to work - no advertising cookies or tracking tools - so the site does not need to ask for cookie consent. Specifically: one cookie remembers your language (kept for 1 year), and your browser storage holds two entries: your sign-in session and your light/dark theme choice. The Google sign-in button and the PayPal checkout come from outside services: the site ONLY loads them when you press them, and at that point Google or PayPal may set their own cookies to sign you in or process the payment safely.

Who else sees your data

We use a few services to run the site: Google (only when you press the Google sign-in button), Resend (password reset emails and parent consent emails), DigitalOcean (servers and storage for exam images), Cloudflare (speed, security, and telling us which country you are in), PayPal (payments when you buy Premium). Apart from these, we do not share your data with any third party. Some AI services receive only EXAM CONTENT for translation and formula reading - never any student information.

Payments

When you buy Premium, the payment is handled by PayPal. Edupiad only receives the plan ID, plan status, and the date and amount of each payment from PayPal - never your card number or bank details. PayPal has its own privacy policy. Payment records (plan ID, dates, amounts) are kept as accounting rules require, even after your personal details have been removed.

Younger students

Edupiad is for students, so we follow child protection laws country by country (such as COPPA in the US, GDPR in Europe and Decree 13/2023 in Vietnam). Each country sets an age below which a parent must agree (for example 16 in Vietnam, 13 in the US). Students under that age sign up with a username and a parent's email; we email the parent to explain what we store and ask them to agree or not. While waiting, the child can practise but cannot make payments. If the parent does not agree, or does not reply within 14 days, the account's personal data is deleted. Parents can ask to see, correct or delete their child's data at any time by emailing us at the address at the bottom of the page.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and practice history for as long as you use Edupiad, because that history is what lets you see your own progress. If you want to stop, write to us and we will close the account and delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days.

Your rights

You can ask to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Just write to us. We reply within 30 days.

When this policy changes

If something meaningful changes we will update the date at the top of this page and let you know when you sign in. The current version always lives at this address.
